Each year, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, First Commerce Credit Union partners with local hospital foundations to raise critical funds for breast cancer patients right here in our community. Using flocks of pink flamingos and the power of community spirit, we're making a real difference for families facing cancer.
This year marks our 6th annual Flamingo Challenge, and for the first time ever, we're holding a community wide silent auction! That means YOU can bid on amazing items while supporting an incredible cause.
Why Your Support Matters
Every single dollar raised stays local and directly helps patients in our community:
- Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Foundation
- SGMC Foundation (Valdosta)
- Sacred Heart Foundation (Bay County)
- Archbold Foundation (Thomasville)
With rising numbers of uninsured patients and families in financial crisis, the need for support has never been greater:
- Covering the cost of life-saving imaging services like mammograms and ultrasounds.
- Providing lodging and transportation assistance for patients who must travel for treatment.
- Purchasing essential items like wigs, mastectomy bras, lymphedema sleeves, and breast prostheses.
- Helping cover prescription costs during treatment.
- Making advanced treatments available locally so patients can stay close to home.

How the Auction Works
Our silent auction features a fantastic collection of items, services, and experiences donated by generous local businesses and community members. Browse the items, place your bids, and compete to win -- all while supporting local breast cancer patients!
Auction Details
- Bidding Opens: Monday Oct 20th, 2025 @ 8am
- Bidding Closes: Friday Oct 31st, 2025 @ 5pm
- Winners Announced: Monday November 3rd, 2025
- Payment & Pickup: Winners will receive instructions for payment and item pickup/delivery. Payment options will be check or cash only.
Bidding Guidelines:
- Anyone can participate. Spread the word!
- Bid on as many items as you like.
- Minimum bid increment: $1.
- If you're outbid, you can bid again. Check back often!
- Highest bidder when the auction closes wins.
- You'll need to provide your name, email, and phone number to bid.
